1. How much does it cost to create an account?
Nothing. Creating an account is free of charge. Domains can be added to your account for listing on our website for free as well.
Sombrero charges fees by asking a commission for domain sales (see here).
3. Who pays for the fees - buyer or seller?
This can be agreed upon by the trading parties for the negotiation trades and for the stand-alone escrow service. We offer that either one of the parties pay the fees or that the fees are split evenly between the trading parties.
For all Buy Now transations, the seller pays the fees.
Escrow Service
1. What are the costs for the escrow service?
The escrow service is included for every successful trade on our platfrom. For the standalone usage (without prior facilitation of our trade platform) there is a small fee, listed below under escrow service.
2. Who pays the fees - buyer or seller?
In the standalone use of our escrow service both parties can split the cost evenly between them or agree on either of the two to pay for the fee.
3. Do I have to register to use Sombrero's Escrow Service?
No. All you need is both parties' email addresses, the domain name and the agreed sales price to start our Escrow Service. But you can create a customer account for free any time you like to use our platform to its full extent.
4. What happens to my money, if the domain fails to be transferred to me?
If the domain transfer fails for any reason, Sombrero will reimburse you with the full amount you have paid, including possible escrow fees. With Sombrero you only pay for a successful transaction.
Domain Consulting und Portfolio Management
1. How much does it cost to have Sombrero manage my domains?
Since we offer tailored solutions for each customer the prices vary depending on the extent of the services and the size of the domain portfolio. Usually a full service for domain owners pays off for customers with portfolios of at least several hundred domains. Contact us for an individual offer!
2. Do I have to transfer my domains to Sombrero to use this service?
No. We can manage your portfolio at other registrars as well. We have gained a lot of experience with the well-known and less known platforms of the domain industry and we know all those fine details that are important to handle them.
But: it can be worth chosing a package containing domain management with Sombrero since we can offer very competitive wholesale prices and thus, cheaper complete packages.
3. Can I park my domains at Sombrero?
Sombrero is not a domain parking provider itself, but together with our partners we help you finding the right parking service for your portfolio. We also gladly facilitate the management of your customer account at the respective parking provider and pay attention to the correct delegation of your domains.
Prices
All prices for our services are exclusive Value Added Tax (VAT) in Germany, except where excluding rules apply. The VAT will be added and calculated upon invoice creation for our services depending on the origin and nature (private or business) of the respective customer. We have kept our price structure as simpel as possible. With Sombrero there are no hidden fees or added prices for features that should be included self-speakingly, like the choice if you want to publish your sale or not.

Escrow Service
When using our domain trade platform the escrow service is included in the price.
For a stand-alone usage of our escrow service (e.g. after an external agreement) the following prices apply (with minimum fee of € 40 (US$ 50) ):
